The Ducal Palace of Gandia
Also known as the Palace of the Borja , is one of the civil architecture buildings and impressive characteristic of his time.
The Dukes Royal Crown of Aragon had here their principal residence , surrounding himself with poets such as Pere and Ausias March .
In 1485 Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia , later Pope Alexander VI , for his descendants purchase the Duchy of Gandia , establishing the dynasty of the dukes Borja until 1740. Among them was its fourth Duke San Francisco de Borja.
Casa de la Marquesa
In the house of the Marquise de Gandia hosts many cultural events throughout the year. The house of the Marquise was built in the late nineteenth century by the Vallier family ( from France ). Due to cultural events (exhibitions , conferences and concerts ) taking place in this building , also called House of Culture.
This fortified building has large carved wooden doors with metal decorations. Of special interest is the garden at the back of the Casa de la Marquesa , where summer concerts are held outdoors
The Serrano Theatre Gandia offers every week theatrical and musical performances . The original name of this theater was Circus Theatre , opened in 1900. It was in 1912 when it acquired its present name. The theater was renovated recently. The Serrano Theatre has two rooms . Room A is the large room where the concerts take place (especially classical music ) and most theatrical performances . Chamber B , smaller , is used both for theatrical movies to show . The films are usually discounted prices and in original language ( with subtitles) . Alternatively films are presented in Valencian.
